SYDNEY: The Armenian National Committee of Australia - Western Sydney (ANC Australia Western Sydney) has announced it will screen Canadian-Armenian Hagop Goudsouzian’s documentary entitled ‘My Son Shall be Armenian’ at the Panoyan Armenian Cultural Centre in Sydney’s West on Friday 19th August 2011.
My Son Shall Be Armenian is the story of the initiatory voyage of Goudsouzian, who, accompanied by five Montreal men and women of Armenian origin, returns to the land of his ancestors - Armenia - in search of survivors of the Armenian Genocide of 1915.
The film, which is in Armenian, English and French with subtitles throughout is a truly Diasporan-Armenian film.
ANC Australia Western Sydney representative Ara Boyadjian said: "This is a must-see film for all advocates of Armenian Genocide recognition in Sydney’s West. We are pleased to be able to deliver this film as the first public community event of the ANC Australia Western Sydney Annex.â€
The film will be screened in the main hall of the Panoyan Armenian Cultural Centre in Bonnyrigg on Friday 19th August at 7:30pm.
Tickets are $10, and are available by contacting the national office of the Armenian National Committee of Australia.
