SYDNEY: Leaders of the Armenian-Australian community have filmed a video appeal, encouraging all their constituents to see Armenian Genocide Hollywood epic, The Promise, which opens in movie theatres on Thursday, 15 June, 2017.



Members of the Clergy, community political, cultural, relief, sporting and youth organisations have united to articulate the importance of community attendance, especially on the film's opening weekend, to ensure the success of The Promise. They note that the more non-Armenians the community can encourage to see the film will ensure its success, thereby ensuring a wider and longer circulation of The Promise in Australia.

The Promise Australia Committee was formed over one month ago by a collective of Armenian-Australian organisations (CLICK HERE), to assist the film's distributors in their marketing efforts.

Since then, we have witnessed news that over 40 movie theatres across Australia will be showing the film from 15 June (CLICK HERE), we have seen the announcement of a Red Carpet Premiere in Sydney featuring political and celebrity guests (CLICK HERE), as well as the appearance of The Promise advertisements on all the major television networks in Australia.

The Melbourne Armenian community has also organised two community screenings on opening day (CLICK HERE).
