YEREVAN/GORIS: For the first time, attendees present at the 2023 ANC-AU Advocacy Week events in Sydney and Melbourne had the opportunity to watch the Highlights Video from the Armenian National Committee of Australia’s (ANC-AU) parliamentary delegation to the Republic of Armenia earlier this year, headlined by seven Australian parliamentarians.

The visit, which took place on September 25 - September 28, was led by co-chairs of the NSW Parliamentary Friends of Armenia Group, Dr Hugh McDermott MP and Tim James MP, who were accompanied by their colleagues from New South Wales and Victoria, Mark Coure MP, Matt Cross MP, Kim Wells MP, Susan Carter MLC and Ann-Marie Hermans MLC. 

The delegation coincided with the mass exodus of Armenians from Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) as a result of Azerbaijan’s 24 hour-military assault following a crippling blockade against the region's indigenous people, and saw the seven parliamentarians visit the border village of Goris housing thousands of refugees to deliver humanitarian aid provided by Ryde and Willoughby City Councils whilst they were on the ground.
