FACEBOOK LIVE: TOMORROW (SUNDAY, 26TH APRIL 2020) at 12 noon (Australian Eastern Standard Time), the Armenian Youth Federation of Australia's (AYF-AU) "RETURN TO YOUR ROOTS" Interactive Livestream will premiere on Facebook Live, encouraging mass participation.
To cap an unprecedented month on online advocacy by the organisation to mark the 105th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, AYF-AU members will be live in studio ready to connect Armenians from Australia and around the world with their roots.
"All people have to do is go to
facebook.com/ayfaus from 12-1pm Sydney time, click on our Live broadcast and comment with their family roots pre-Armenian Genocide," explained AYF-AU Central Executive Chair, Aram Tufenkjian.
"Our members will be taking those names and adding them to a virtual map of Western Armenia, and giving a specially prepared historical on their town or village."
"By marking this map with names of descendants of genocide survivors, we will be returning our compatriots to their roots in a live, interactive journey," Tufenkjian added.
AYF-AU is encouraging the participation of Armenians from not only Australia, but also from around the world.
"With participation from Sydney Australia all the way to Yerevan Armenia, and all countries in between where Armenians have settled since 1915, we will be able to fill this virtual map with what it could have looked like if the Armenian Genocide had not taken place," said Tufenkjian.
