STATEMENT: On 29 January 2025, three separate racist and hateful attacks took place, including the vandalism of a Jewish Primary school in Maroubra.
This incident echoes the disgraceful 2020 vandalism of the Krouzian-Zekarian-Vasbouragan Armenian School in San Francisco—an attack that sought to intimidate descendants of Armenian Genocide survivors by defacing a place of education and innocence.
The repetition of such acts across different parts of the world is a stark reminder that racism and bigotry, in all its forms, must be confronted wherever and whenever they arise.
The abhorrent rise of anti-Semitic acts across Sydney and the rest of Australia is appalling and cause for serious concern. We welcome the arrest of over 10 individuals responsible for these offensive crimes and urge law enforcement to take immediate and decisive action in dealing with such unacceptable and sickening acts which are aimed at making fellow Australians feel unsafe in their own community.
We stand with the Jewish Australian Community and the NSW Government in condemning such shameful acts of violence.
Hate crimes have no place in modern Australia. Such crimes are an affront to the Australian way of life and should never be tolerated.
