REMINDER AND UPDATED BUS DETAILS: Protest and Commemoration Evening THIS FRIDAY
Wednesday, 22 April 2015
Dear members of the Sydney Armenian community,
This Friday, April 24th 2015 marks the official date of the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
There are two major community events, organised by the Armenian Genocide Centenary Commemoration Committee, which require mass Armenian presence.
First, the Protest at the NSW Turkish Consulate (66 Ocean Street, Woollahra), which starts at 3pm and finishes at 4pm. It is important we are there and make our voices heard, despite the fact that the Consulate has decided to round up Turkish community members to try to drown our voices (updated flyer below).Second, the National Armenian Genocide Commemoration Evening at the Sydney Town Hall (George Street, Sydney), which will feature Geoffrey Robertson QC as the keynote speaker (updated flyer below).
While everybody is free to make their own way to both events, buses have been organised to guarantee ease of transport. These bus times/details have undergone change, and we require you to please pass on the following FINAL DETAILS to all your friends and family.
