SYDNEY: MP and Member for the Armenian-Australian populated electorate of Wakehurst, Brad Hazzard met with the Armenian National Committee of Australia (ANC Australia) to discuss community issues ahead of the 2011 NSW state election.
Hazzard who was updated about Armenian-Australian community issues during the meeting, acknowledged the Community’s contribution to his Northern Beaches electorate and offered to continue supporting Armenian community objectives if re-elected.
At the meeting Hazzard commented: "The Armenian community in my electorate is a well integrated community.â€
“Should I be re-elected to represent the people of Wakehurst, I will to continue offer assistance and support to the Armenian-Australian community.â€
ANC Australia Executive Director Varant Meguerditchian was confident Hazzard would continue to aptly represent the Armenian-Australians in his electorate.
He said: "In Mr Hazzard the Armenian community and ANC Australia have a close friend and suitable representative in the NSW Parliament.â€

Hazzard who has served as the Member for Wakehurst since 1991 was present when the NSW Parliament unanimously voted to recognise the Armenian Genocide as a crime against humanity.
