SYDNEY: State Member for Lane Cove Anthony Roberts MP was host to a pre-election meeting with the Armenian National Committee of Australia (ANC Australia) at his electoral office in Gladesville to address Armenian Australians issues.
Roberts, who serves in the Shadow Cabinet as Shadow Minister for Citizenship, has continually offered his assistance to Armenian-Australians; often making appeals directly to his party on matters raised by ANC Australia.
At the meeting, Roberts reaffirmed his commitment to support Armenian Australians.
He said: "The Armenian Australians of Lane Cove play a significant role in the business and community life of this electorate and I pledge to continue addressing their concerns to my party colleagues."
Since election to the NSW Legislative Assembly in 2003, Roberts has met with ANC Australia on a number of occasions and attended Armenian Genocide commemorative events.
ANC Australia’s representative at the meeting, Honorary Chairperson Greg Soghomonian said: "Throughout two parliamentary terms Mr Roberts has supported the Armenian Australian community consistently by providing guidance and advice."
"We look forward to working closely with Mr Roberts in the coming term."
