SYDNEY: Internationally-renowned United States-based Armenian singer Maxim Panossian will perform at ANC Australia Day, as the entertainment list for this Sunday's family fun day continues to expand.
Maxim will be joined at Ryde No. 3 (park behind the new Top Ryde City Shopping Centre) by leading Sydney-Armenian band Karnig & Hovik and community favourite Hagop Gulumian. Galstaun College students will also perform acts from stage, which include singing and dancing.
Community organisations, including Hamazkaine, the Armenian Relief Society, the Armenian Youth Federation and Homenetmen have united to help celebrate what organisers are calling "a day for all Armenians".
The Armenian National Committee of Australia (ANC Australia) says entertaining the Armenian-Australian community is their primary goal.
"ANC Australia is a grassroots organisation and the entertainment for this event has been arranged to attract the masses we represent," said ANC Australia Community Relations Officer Stephen Abolakian.
"Maxim Panossian is a living legend in Armenian music, and those who attend will feel very lucky that a man who has graced stages all around the world will perform for them at Ryde Park," he said.
Abolakian added: "Along with Karnig & Hovik, Hagop Gulumian, our singers and dancers; Ryde No. 3 is the place to be for all Armenians this Sunday, 15 November." Adding to the international pedigree of ANC Australia Day, former Armenian Ambassador to Canada, His Excellency Ara Papian will also make an appearance.
