CANBERRA: Opposition Leader, Peter Dutton has met with over 25 Armenian National Committee of Australia (ANC-AU) Youth Advocates and visiting former Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia, Dr Arman Tatoyan at Federal Parliament House in Canberra.
The meeting, which took place during the ANC-AU Youth Advocates program, was conducted in the Leader of the Opposition’s parliamentary suite.
Before taking questions from the ANC-AU Youth Advocates, Mr Dutton acknowledged the challenges the Armenian nation faces and thanked the young Armenian-Australian leaders for their tireless advocacy and willingness to participate in the program to make their voices heard.
The Member for Dickson and former Defence Minister of Australia, elected to the House of Representatives in 2001, provided the ANC-AU Youth Advocate participants with a unique opportunity to participate in a Q&A session.

Dutton said: “It was a pleasure to meet with the next generation of leaders from the Australian-Armenian community. Their dedication and enthusiasm to bringing our two countries closer together is a credit to them and the Armenian National Committee of Australia. I look forward to following their contribution to public life in the years ahead.”
ANC-AU Executive Director, Michael Kolokossian thanked the Leader of the Opposition for putting aside time to meet with the Youth Advocates and Dr Tatoyan.
The
2022 Youth Advocates program, which was supported by the ANC-AU Internship Program’s Hagop Kortian Scholarship, is a two-day program for university-aged youth to learn and practise the craft of advocacy through meetings with political leaders, media and thought leaders.
