SYDNEY: ANC Australia Day next Sunday will feature on-stage entertainment from leading Armenian-Australian community musical duo Karnig & Hovik, as well as performers from the much-publicised Galstaun College Primary Concert held last week.
The event, to be held from 11am at Ryde No. 3, is a community celebration of the 2009 achievements of the Armenian National Committee of Australia, which includes the passing of South Australia's Armenian Genocide motion.
Karnig & Hovik, previously of Arax Band, have entertained the Sydney Armenian community for decades, and next Sunday's opportunity to put on an outdoor show for the community has the duo excited and ready to deliver true entertainment.
Galstaun College students will perform some of their acts from a recent concert titled 'Trip to Armenia', which caught the imagination of the community last week.
ANC Australia Community Relations Officer Stephen Abolakian said: "We are excited that these acts have confirmed their attendance, and we look forward to making next Sunday the biggest ANC Australia Day ever held."
Former Armenian Ambassador to Canada, His Excellency Ara Papian,
in Sydney as ANC Australia's international guest of honour for Advocacy Week, will bring his participation to ANC Australia Day.
