SYDNEY: Nick Lalich MP, Member for the Armenian-Australian populated electorate of Cabramatta, offered his support to issues concerning the Armenian community in Sydney’s West during a recent meeting with the Armenian National Committee of Australia (ANC Australia).
At his Western Sydney office Lalich was presented with a brief of Armenian-Australian community activities as well as information regarding the Armenian Genocide & the Armenian Relief Fund of Australia by ANC Australia Executive Director Varant Meguerditchian.
At the meeting Lalich declared: "I’m well aware of the history of the Armenian Genocide and I understand the importance of acknowledging and remembering such crimes against humanity.â€
ANC Australia welcomed Lalich's commitment to supporting Armenian human rights issues.
Varant Meguerditchian said: "Acknowledgment of the Armenian Genocide is of fundamental importance to Armenian-Australians and we thank Mr Lalich for taking the moral high-ground on this matter.â€

Lalich, whose electorate is home to the Armenian Cultural Centre in Bonnyrigg has been a supporter of genocide prevention and an imposing figure in the struggle against genocide denial.
