SYDNEY: Ms Gladys Berejiklian, Shadow Transport Minister and the NSW Member for the Armenian-Australian populated electorate of Willoughby, reaffirmed her commitment to advocate for Armenian human rights and community sustainability issues during a recent meeting with the Armenian National Committee of Australia (ANC Australia).
Berejiklian stated: "The Armenian community remains close to my heart and I commit to continue representing the issues concerning the Armenian-Australians of Willoughby if elected to government at the upcoming elections."
ANC Australia welcomed Berejiklian's unwavering support for Armenian community issues.
Executive Director Varant Meguerditchian said: "Ms Berejiklian has excelled in her role since taking office and been an example to both Armenian-Australians and the wider community."
He added: "We thank Ms Berejiklian for her support and look forward to enhancing our close working relationship in the coming parliamentary term."
A former ANC Australia member now representing the Armenian Australian populated electorate of Willoughby, Berejiklian is poised to become the first Minister of Armenian descent in the Parliament of NSW, if the Liberal-National Coalition is elected to government on March 26.
