SYDNEY: Federal and New South Wales state parliamentarians will join the Armenian National Committee of Australia at the organisation's Annual Gala, to be held this year at The Shangri-La, Sydney on Saturday 3rd December 2022.
Kylea Tink, the newly elected Member for North Sydney, Speaker of the New South Wales Parliament Jonathan O’Dea MP and prominent NSW Opposition figures including the Hon. Walt Secord MLC and Dr. Hugh McDermott MP will be among those on the star-studded guest list of supporters to attend the Armenian National Committee of Australia’s (ANC-AU) Annual Gala Banquet.
Tink, elected to the Australian House of Representatives at the recent 2022 Australian Federal Election, was the first Member of Parliament to condemn the latest Turkish-backed Azerbaijani Aggression in the House of Representatives Chamber, and has vowed to support federal recognition of the Armenian Genocide and support for the rights to self-determination of the people of the Republic of Artsakh.
They will be joined by previous Gala attendees the NSW Multicultural Minister, the Hon. Mark Coure MP, NSW Minister for Customer Service and Digital Government, the Hon. Victor Dominello MP and Member of the Legislative Council and the Hon. Fred Nile.
Newly elected NSW Parliamentarians, the Hon. Chris Rath MLC and Tim James, Member for Willoughby, will also be in attendance at their first ANC-AU Gala.
This celebratory evening will feature the presentation of the distinguished Armenian National Committee Freedom Award, the ANC-AU Armenian-Australian Community’s Friend of the Year award and the ANC-AU Ben Bagdikian Media Award, with the recipients announced in the coming weeks.
“We are looking forward to reaffirming our collective commitment to the Armenian cause, federal recognition of the Armenian Genocide in Australia, support for the Republic of Armenia’s security and fighting for Artsakh’s security,” said ANC-AU Executive Director Michael Kolokossian.
