SYDNEY: The Australian National Maritime Museum recently hosted the Armenian National Committee of Australia’s (ANC Australia) exhibition ‘Armenia’ on Saturday 30th April 2011 as part of a tribute to Armenian migration to Australia.
The exhibition, which covers topics including the Armenian Genocide, the Armenian Relief Fund of Australia, Nagorno Karabakh and the Armenian-Australian community, was viewed by thousands of passers-by and visitors while on temporary display at the Australian National Maritime Museum.
Showcased to coincide with the arrival of the appropriately named yacht ‘Armenia’ to the shores of Sydney, the exhibition was especially applauded by Australian National Maritime Museum Vice-President, Vicki Northey.
She said: "We’re pleased to have exhibition ‘Armenia’ on display as gives the wider public an opportunity to familiarise with Armenia's turbulent history, rich heritage and vibrant culture."
Â
ANC Australia Executive Director Varant Meguerditchian thanked Northey and the Museum for the opportunity to showcase the exhibition.
Â
He said: "We appreciate the opportunity offered to ANC Australia by the Australian Maritime Museum to make ‘Armenia’ accessible to the Australian public."
