SYDNEY: The Armenian National Committee of Australia will host an event discussing ‘the resettlement effort of Kharabagh’s strategic borderlands’, with international guest speaker, Mr. Antranig Kasbarian (PhD) of the Tufenkian Foundation. The Information Evening will be held at the Armenian Cultural Centre on Sunday 18th May, 6pm.
The Tufenkian Foundation is a non- profit foundation formed to improve the quality of living in Armenia. Among the 50-plus projects the Foundation has initiated in homeland Armenia is the rebuilding and resettlement of Nagorno-Kharabagh’s strategic border-zones, where its native Armenian inhabitants remain vulnerable since waging a self-determination struggle against Azerbaijani occupation.
New York-based Kasbarian; a former member of the Armenian Youth Federation, former editor of The Armenian Weekly, and current board member of the Armenian National Committee - Eastern United States; is the Tufenkian Foundation’s Director of Development. On Sunday, he will share details of the Foundation’s projects and explain how members of the Armenian-Australian community can become involved.
“The community here in Sydney is delighted to welcome Mr. Kasbarian to our shores and expect his visit will yield positive results,†said Mr. Varant Meguerditchian, President of the Armenian National Committee of Australia.
