SYDNEY: Recently-elected Mayor of Ryde, Councillor Artin Etmekdjian met with the Armenian National Committee of Australia (ANC Australia) at his Ryde Civic Centre suite last week.
Haig Kayserian of ANC Australia was joined by Galstaun College Board member Vic Kalloghlian at the meeting with Etmekdjian and his fellow Armenian Ryde Councillor Sarkis Yedelian.
The representatives passed on the community's congratulations to the first Armenian Mayor of an Australian municipality, as well as discussed issues on the community's agenda.
Kayserian said: "Councillors Etmekdjian and Yedelian have long worked with ANC Australia and the community we represent. We felt it fitting to follow up our written congratulations to the new Mayor with a personal visit.
"We also used the opportunity to discuss areas where our community and the City of Ryde can work closer."
