SYDNEY: The Armenian National Committee of Australia (ANC) has officially congratulated the Honourable Nathan Rees on his ascension to Premier of New South Wales.
Following the resignation of the Hon. Mr. Morris Iemma, Mr. Rees – the former NSW Minister for Water & Emergency Services – was elected to the post by his colleagues and has named a new cabinet to be led by himself and newly-named Deputy Premier, the Hon. Ms. Carmel Tebbutt.
"We thank Mr. Iemma for his dedicated service to the Armenian-Australian community and for leading the state of NSW,†said ANC Australia President, Mr. Varant Meguerditchian. "We congratulate Mr. Nathan Rees on his ascension into a role we know he will capably fill."
He added: "ANC Australia looks forward to working together with Mr. Rees and his government in advancing issues concerning the NSW Armenian community."
