SYDNEY: The Armenian National Committee of Australia has announced a new Executive body, promising a continued active approach to Armenian-Australian public affairs.
The new-look ANC Australia will be led by Mr. Varant Meguerditchian, who takes over as President from the long-serving Dr. Tro Kortian.
“As the peak public affairs body of the Armenian-Australian community, the ANC Australia has a supreme responsibility, and I urge the community to join me in supporting the new Executive,†Dr. Kortian commented.
“I wish the new President and Executive every success,†added Dr. Kortian, who ends a successful 12 years of service in ANC Australia.
Mr. Meguerditchian promised to draw on his predecessor’s invaluable experience in leading ANC Australia in what he promised will be a period of “tireless activismâ€.
“The ANC Australia reaffirms its duty to actively advance the concerns of the Armenian community of Australia and pledges to continue the productive work of our former President,†Mr. Meguerditchian said.
“Dr Kortian’s experience and advice will be an invaluable resource to the new Executive.â€
