The Armenian National Committee of Australia has announced it will screen critically-acclaimed Roger Kupelian film, Dark Forest In The Mountains at Chatswood's Zenith Theatre next month.
The English-language film is a unique depiction of the early 1990s conflict over the mountainous region of Nagorno-Karabakh, which saw Armenia fight Azerbaijan for the region inhabited by over 170,000 Armenians.
Dark Forest In The Mountains was shot on location in Nagorno-Karabakh and uses a mix of digital animation, live footage and expert interviews to tell the story of that region of the world, and the events that led up to the conflict.
The film will be shown to Sydney-Armenians on
Tuesday, 23 September. ANC Australia will donate proceeds from the screening to the Tufenkian Foundation's Kashatagh Resettlement Effort.
