RE: Rebel bombings of Aleppo, Syria
Dear Prime Minister:
We write in the wake of shocking news that renewed Rebel-led attacks on Aleppo are savagely targeting Armenians and other Christian civilians in Syria.
Armenian homes are being destroyed in regions, such as Nor Kyugh and Sulemenieh, which have been heavily-populated by our Christian Armenian community for 100 years.
As Australians, we must have zero-tolerance for such heinous attacks on civilians.
Mr. Abbott, we called upon your government when Turkey-backed Rebels depopulated Armenians from their homes in Kessab, Syria in April. The response of your Foreign Minister was unsatisfactory.
We now call on you, as Prime Minister, to correct this. We ask that you put Australia on the right side of history by:
a) demanding an end to the Rebel-led bombings of innocent Christians and all civilians in Aleppo;
b) pressuring your allies, including the United States of America and Turkey, demanding they stop funding these Rebel forces destroying Christian homes in Syrian regions such as Aleppo and Kessab;
c) providing an appropriate response to our previous petition and letters, demanding Australia condemns the Turkey-backed depopulation of the Armenians in Kessab, Syria.
We look forward to hearing of your actions on each of these issues, as it is our moral obligation to address another growing Middle Eastern crisis before more homes and lives are lost.
