SYDNEY: Liberal Paul Fletcher has won the by-election for the Federal seat of Bradfield, vacated by resigned former Opposition Leader, the Hon. Brendan Nelson.

Mr. Fletcher earned the right to contest for the safe Liberal seat by defeating a star-studded field in the party's pre-selection. He has met with Armenian National Committee of Australia (ANC Australia) President, Mr. Varant Meguerditchian, who said he looks forward to working closely with the new Federal Member for Bradfield.

"Bradfield is home to many Armenian families, and we look forward to working closely with Mr. Fletcher to advance issues of concern to Armenians just as we had done with his predecessor Mr. Nelson," Mr. Meguerditchian said.
