SYDNEY: The Armenian National Committee of Australia (ANC Australia) has officially congratulated the Hon. Kristina Keneally on her ascension to Premier of New South Wales.

Ohio-born Ms Keneally follows the Hon. Nathan Rees into the role. Ms Keneally – the former NSW Minister for Ageing & Disabilities – was elected to the post by her colleagues and has named a new cabinet to be led by herself and continuing Deputy Premier, the Hon. Carmel Tebbutt.

"We thank Mr. Rees for his service to the Armenian-Australian community and for leading the state of NSW,” said ANC Australia President, Mr. Varant Meguerditchian. "We congratulate Ms Keneally on her ascension into a role we know she will capably fill."

He added: "ANC Australia looks forward to working together with Ms Keneally and her government in advancing issues concerning the NSW Armenian community."
