SYDNEY: The Armenian National Committee of Australia (ANC Australia) has congratulated New South Wales Member for Willoughby, Ms Gladys Berejiklian on her five-year election anniversary.
2008 marks the fifth year since residents of Willoughby elected the former NSW Young Liberal President as their NSW Member of Parliament (MP); a role Ms Berejiklian has excelled in since taking office. She is now a senior member of the NSW Opposition Liberal Party, occupying the Shadow Minister role for both the Transport and Citizenship portfolios.
ANC Australia President, Mr. Varant Meguerditchian has congratulated Ms Berejiklian – a former member of ANC Australia – on her milestone.
“The Armenian-Australian community is delighted to be represented in public office by such a dignified and respected individual,†said Mr. Meguerditchian. “Gladys sets an excellent example for our community and the community at large, and deserves our collective congratulations on achieving this important milestone.â€
Ms Berejiklian will be joined by the NSW Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Barry O’Farrell MP, and the Federal Shadow Minister for Health, the Honourable Mr. Joe Hockey MP, at a Dinner celebrating the fifth year of her election. The dinner will be held on Friday, the 27th of June at North Sydney Leagues Club.
