SYDNEY: The Armenian National Committee of Australia (ANC-AU) has promised a major announcement in support of Artsakh advocacy at tonight's (Thursday 1st August 2019) event, which will feature a presentation by visiting Foreign Minister Masis Mayilyan and his delegation.
In what they've billed as #MovingMountains, ANC-AU will reveal what is a significant advancement in the battle to have the Republic of Artsakh more recognised across Australia.
"As it stands, Australia's largest state of New South Wales has recognised the Republic of Artsakh, as has the City of Ryde, which also formed a Friendship City relationship with the country's capital Stepanakert with an historic resolution last week," said ANC-AU Executive Director, Haig Kayserian.
"Tonight's announcement will further advance the cause for eventual national recognition of the Republic of Artsakh, which is what will ultimately deliver our courageous Armenian brothers and sisters the security, peace and prosperity that they deserve as the indigenous citizens of the land, where they exercised their human right to self-determination in 1991."
Artsakh Foreign Minister Masis Mayilyan, Member of the Artsakh National Assembly Davit Ishkhanyan and Artsakh Foreign Ministry official Artak Nersisyan represent the highest-level delegation from the Republic of Artsakh to ever visit Australia.
Tonight (Thursday 1st August 2019, 7pm), they will present updates on the latest from the Republic of Artsakh at a Community Information Evening in Sydney (Willoughby Uniting Church - 10 Clanwilliam Street Willoughby).
They will present to the Melbourne Armenian community (Armenian Community Centre - 8-14 Police Road Springvale) this Saturday 3rd August 2019, 7pm.
Earlier this week, the delegation travelled to the nation's capital Canberra, where a welcome reception was held in their honour and attended by over a dozen Australian politicians (
